The global initiative "Gift Responsibly" was created by the National Council on Problem Gambling with the goal of raising awareness about the importance of responsible gaming.
Argentina.- The Lotería de Córdoba announced its participation in "Gift Responsibly", a global campaign by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG - National Council on Problem Gambling of the United States) supported by the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL - North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries) and powered by the World Lottery Association (WLA).
Officials from the Córdoba lottery stated that this participation reaffirms their commitment to the community to protect children and adolescents in the province. "This effort joins the Lotería de Córdoba with more than 64 lotteries and 87 community organizations around the world with the goal of informing and raising awareness about the risks of gambling in minors," the entity explained.
Keith Whyte, executive director of NCPG, said after the lottery's adherence: "The long-term risks associated with minors' exposure to gambling cannot be underestimated" and added: "We applaud the Lotería de Córdoba for its commitment to raising awareness about the risks of gambling for young people and for educating the community that gambling is not appropriate for children and adolescents."
Meanwhile, David Urreta, president of the Lotería de Córdoba, declared: "Research shows that the earlier the contact with gambling, the greater the likelihood of developing related problems in the future. Exposure to these activities usually occurs through adults who are unaware of the risks they pose to minors. Therefore, since we took office at Lotería de Córdoba, we have worked hard to prevent the participation of minors in gambling."
Urreta also highlighted other key initiatives carried out by the entity such as talks and workshops offered to students, professionals, and teachers in the province from the Responsible Gaming Department; the campaign "Help us take care of your children," which promotes tools like applications to block access to gambling sites; and collaboration with the Public Prosecutor's Office in the fight against illegal gambling.
"It is an honor that our daily effort is recognized by joining this global campaign," Urreta concluded.

Founded in the early 2000s, the "Gift Responsibly" campaign works to raise public awareness about the risks of gambling in young people. Through partnerships with lotteries and other organizations, the campaign educates communities about the dangers of gambling in children. The campaign is promoted by the NCPG and supported by NASPL.
The "Gift Responsibly" campaign seeks to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the most vulnerable populations, promoting that gambling be considered a form of entertainment exclusively for adults and never a gift for minors.
