The initiative will include educational and awareness activities
Spain.- The Extremaduran Health Service (SES) and the Foundation for Training and Research of Health Professionals of Extremadura (FUNDESALUD) announced their collaboration on the project "Health Mental Promotion Campaign and Prevention of Addictive Behaviors in Youth", aimed at young people in Extremadura.
The agreement, signed by Jesús Vilés Piris, managing director of SES, and José Luis González Sánchez, managing director of FUNDESALUD, establishes a framework of cooperation to raise awareness among youth about the risks associated with both substance use and gambling. The campaign will include educational and awareness activities, which will be primarily disseminated through digital platforms to ensure a wider reach.

The agreement also includes the formation of a project steering committee, composed of members from both entities, which will be responsible for overseeing the execution and development of the initiatives. This committee will be responsible for ensuring that the activities are carried out effectively and that their impact and effectiveness are evaluated.
The Ministry of Finance and Public Administration of Extremadura announced at the end of 2024 the opening of a period of public hearing and information in relation to a new order project that seeks to regulate access to gambling establishments in the region. It will be available for a period of fifteen days.
