"People were trafficked to Myawaddy in eastern Myanmar, but the officials went to Thailand to rescue them," this seems to have become the common method adopted by officials when rescuing trafficked compatriots, whether it is the actor Wang Xing who has been rescued back to the country, or the 16 Hong Kong compatriots rescued from Myawaddy, Thailand has become a necessary stop for official agencies.
The Deputy Director of the Hong Kong Security Bureau stated that 28 Hong Kong citizens were trafficked by criminals to Myawaddy in eastern Myanmar. The Hong Kong police will form a joint team with multiple departments to go to Thailand and meet with local relevant institutions to formulate a rescue plan.
In the process of rescuing Wang Xing, the Thai police and media were the most involved in the entire rescue process, and the Prime Minister of Thailand, Prayut Chan-o-cha, even personally ordered the rescue of Wang Xing.
Furthermore, during the rescue of Wang Xing, some insiders claimed that the Thai side even directly told the person in charge of the relevant park to release him immediately, and the whole process took less than two hours, which is considered a miracle in Myawaddy, known as "hell on earth."
Wang Xing and those 28 Hong Kong citizens trafficked to Myawaddy were obviously in trouble and detained within Myanmar, but why did the official institutions choose to go to Thailand for rescue? And why did Thailand contribute the most throughout the process?
The answer to this question seems to lie in the "subtle" relationship between Myawaddy and Thailand, and it is probably for this reason that Thailand cannot remain unaffected and even has to make efforts in the rescue process to avoid being labeled as an "accomplice in telecom fraud."
