Brazil.- The Brazilian state of Paraná remains firm in its goal to develop actions to consolidate the state lottery market as a new option for safe entertainment and with social return for the population.
To encourage and spread good practices of responsible gaming among the players from Paraná, the State Lottery of Paraná (Lottopar) presented a report compiling all the actions developed in 2024.
Among these initiatives, the agreement with the United Lotteries Association for Integrity in Sports (ULIS), which aims to strengthen the ability to monitor sports integrity with advanced artificial intelligence technology.
The Strategic Planning of Responsible Gaming, the structuring of the Communication Plan to support the promotion of education of all involved parties and the edition of the 1st Week of Responsible Gaming, the biggest event driven by Lottopar, are other actions that are found in the report, as well as the publication of ordinances that deal with the advertising standards of operators in Paraná.
For the CEO of Lottopar, Daniel Romanowski, this report demonstrates the commitment to offer safe and responsible entertainment. In that sense, he declared: “Responsible gaming depends a lot on the gambler, since it is in their hands to play responsibly, but we as public powers have to offer tools to make this possible. In this report, you can see numerous actions developed by the team of Lottopar, pioneering actions, unprecedented and that also place us at the forefront of responsible gaming”.

The report was developed by the Operations Directorate of Lottopar as a way to provide transparency and also for gamblers to know all the tools developed by the authority that contribute to creating a safe gaming environment and that gaming can be practiced as a form of entertainment throughout the territory of Paraná.
In this regard, Fabio Veiga, Operations Director, said: “One of our commitments is the protection of gamblers, sports integrity, and innovation in the lottery market. The initiatives detailed in this report highlight those actions, consolidating Paraná as a leader in this economic segment in Brazil”.
In early January, the authorities of the State Lotteries of Paraná (Lottopar) detailed the achievements reached by the entity in the last year, among which stands out a collection of more than R$27.5m (USD4.4m) in fixed subsidy, just in 2024, adding to what was already collected with the concession of fixed quota bets, the “bets”, in 2023, worth R$25m (USD4m), for a total of R$52.5m (USD8.5m), which will be allocated to public housing, public safety, and social actions.
