The Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, Natalia, chaired a meeting to discuss the promotion and implementation preparations for the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).
Natalia stated that the digital arrival card is an important initiative by Thailand to enhance tourism services, aimed at simplifying entry procedures, improving customs efficiency, and optimizing visitor experience. This system will replace the traditional paper-based entry card (TM.6), developed into a digital platform by the Thailand National Immigration Bureau, allowing tourists to submit entry information online and reducing the cumbersome steps of manual filling.
Currently, the digital arrival card system has been developed and is interfacing with relevant agencies, including disease control checkpoints, airlines, and customs, to ensure smooth operation of the system. It is expected that the system will be officially implemented on May 1, 2025, providing a more efficient and convenient customs clearance experience for incoming tourists.
The Thailand National Immigration Bureau is collaborating with multiple departments to integrate the digital arrival card with the following systems:
1. E-Visa system — Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
2. Disease screening system — Disease Control Division
3. Tourist entry fee system — Ministry of Tourism and Sports
This move will effectively reduce the entry inspection process, enhance customs efficiency, and further consolidate Thailand's position as a leading global tourism destination.
To ensure the widespread use of the digital arrival card, the Thailand National Immigration Bureau has produced promotional materials in five languages (English, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Japanese), including:
1. Promotional brochure — Introducing details and usage methods of the digital arrival card
2. Two promotional videos
(1) Grand Opening — Introducing the importance and functions of the digital arrival card
(2) How to Use TDAC — Guiding tourists on how to fill in entry information online
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand stated that the launch of the digital arrival card is an important step towards Thailand becoming a "Smart Tourism Destination," aimed at creating a more efficient, modern, and convenient travel experience for global tourists.
