In an emotional event, the Social Assistance Institute (IAS) of the Argentine province of Formosa celebrated the closing of the 2024 cycle of two of its Social Responsibility programs: the Provincial Program of Equine Therapy and Flavors with Identity. The day was attended by provincial authorities, families, and participants of both initiatives.

Among the attendees were the Lieutenant Governor Eber Solís; the Minister of Culture and Education, Julio Aráoz; the head of the IAS, Edgar Pérez; the head of the Department of Special Education, Gustavo Miers; and the provincial deputies Blanca Denis and Hugo García. Children and youth with disabilities who attend the AMEIAS site to receive equine therapy classes, along with their family members, also participated.

Programs that transform lives

Flavors with Identity is an initiative that promotes the inclusion and autonomy of people with disabilities through cooking classes, held at the Howard Johnson Hotel. On the other hand, the Provincial Program of Equine Therapy, promoted by the Government of Formosa through the IAS, offers therapeutic support to children and youth with disabilities. Both proposals reflect the provincial government's commitment to inclusion and equity, fundamental pillars for the development of the community.

Authorities highlight the impact of the programs

During his speech, the Lieutenant Governor Eber Solís praised the work of the IAS and the agencies involved in the disability area, emphasizing the positive impact on the benefited families.

The head of the IAS, Edgar Pérez, highlighted that these programs are part of the Formoseño Model, ensuring that "in Formosa, public policies address the needs of society and provide support to families with a child or youth with disabilities". He also emphasized the importance of social justice and equity in the development of these initiatives, in a context where national policies have reduced assistance in this area.

"For us, they are different abilities that enrich our society with love and effort, which motivates us as public servants to improve every day," emphasized Pérez.

A sustained commitment to the community

The IAS reaffirmed its commitment to Social Responsibility by allocating funds obtained from gaming to initiatives that generate a positive impact on the community. In this sense, the equine therapy program remains as a tool of free and unrestricted access, consolidating itself as a fundamental support for children and youth with disabilities.

"The concept of Social Responsibility comes to life when a state institution adopts it and turns it into concrete actions. This work has grown over the years, increasing its reach and benefits, improving the tools to assist those who need it most," added Pérez.

Recognition to the participants

As the closing of the event, the children and adolescents who participated in both programs were distinguished with certificates of attendance and gifts, celebrating their effort and dedication throughout the year.
