Brazil.- A bill proposal presented in the Legislative Assembly of the State of Amazonas seeks to establish the Educational Campaign "End of Game" in the State Department of Education and School Sports (Seduc). The initiative aims to raise awareness among children and adolescents about the harms of gambling and betting, practices that can compromise academic performance and affect the psychological and social well-being of young people. The bill is authored by state representative Débora Menezes.
The Bill received a favorable opinion from the Commission on Constitution, Justice, and Drafting (CCJR) of the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam). The project will be sent for analysis to the Economic Affairs Committee (CAE), upon the resumption of legislative work, scheduled for the first week of February.
"The anxiety to make easy and quick money through online betting and casinos has been increasingly and prematurely manifesting among the population, especially among children and adolescents. In addition to financial harm and dependency these practices generate, the interest in these platforms is harming the focus on studies and the healthy development of young people," explained representative Débora Menezes.
The proposal also seeks to promote educational activities to develop critical skills and self-control in the use of technologies, as well as to assist in the early identification of compulsive behaviors.

"The implementation of a direct and didactic educational program is fundamental to prevent the development of harmful habits from childhood. This project aims to create a culture of responsible technology use, with a focus on preventing gambling addiction, while also offering support to families to face this challenge," detailed the parliamentarian.
Menezes hopes, through the "End of Game" campaign, to promote awareness and education to ensure a healthier and more balanced future for children and adolescents.
