Scientific Games' SCiQ retail technology made its debut in the European market and was launched at the Asda supermarket chain in the UK.

This technology has already been deployed in over a dozen US markets, aiming to modernize the retail management and purchasing methods of national lottery scratch cards.

The ecosystem includes store reporting, automated inventory management, real-time store-specific sales analytics, and market basket performance reports, among other features.

SCiQ not only helps modernize the experience and streamline operations but also enhances product security for retailers.

This trial of the technology is part of an effort to provide references for future expansion plans, with Asda, Allwyn, and Scientific Games working together to ensure the technology fits the store.

Christopher Allen, Vice President of Lottery Marketing Strategy at Scientific Games, stated, "Our global technology team continues Scientific Games' commitment of over 50 years to innovate in the lottery sector and introduce new advanced technologies to the market, helping lotteries evolve towards a future-oriented development across all gaming channels.

Good news: Scientific Games' SCiQ retail technology went live in Colorado, USA in September

"We are thrilled to bring our mature SCiQ retail ecosystem into collaboration with Allwyn, and we are excited that Asda is the first retailer in the UK to deploy the system in-store."

Jenny Blogg, Chief Operating Officer at Allwyn, added, "As we continue to transform the national lottery from the inside out, we are deploying innovative lottery technologies fit for the future. Thanks to the efforts of the Allwyn and Scientific Games teams, this innovative scratch card retail technology elevates the experience for both players and retailers to a new level, and we believe it will change the way people buy scratch cards.

"We are also working closely with Asda to meet the specific requirements of their new store fronts, and we are very pleased with the results. We will evaluate it over the next few months to determine how to advance this technology, but we are very excited about the initial results."
