Dagili Communication Agency's website and Facebook (Dagili Communication Agency), an independent communication agency based in the US with offices in Myanmar, reported yesterday that an official from the Dagili Electricity Bureau stated that the committee is prepared to import electricity from Laos as needed.
The committee has planned in advance: what to do in case of an emergency? Therefore, new power lines have been laid. Everything is ready for the power outage today.
The report indicates that currently, the Thai and Lao borders of Dagili Prefecture and two other cities in Dagili Prefecture are using electricity from Thailand and Laos.
Thai authorities held an emergency meeting yesterday, deciding to cut off electricity to Shan State Province. This includes severing internet connections and fuel delivery to the neighboring Chiang Rai Prefecture.
It is currently unclear what the Dagili Gas Station Operators Association will do if Thailand stops exporting fuel to the province.
