At 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, members of the public will be able to gamble, dine and enjoy all of the features of the new Grand Island Casino Resort. From then on, the casino will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
By a unanimous vote, the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission approved a request Friday to open the permanent casino.
Grand Island Casino Resort will have a VIP gathering at 4 p.m. April 10. Two hours later, the doors will open.
With opening day three weeks away, “We can hardly wait,” casino general manager Vince Fiala said after the meeting. Construction began about a year and a half ago.
