Birmingham Football Club's official Asian betting partner, God55, is under scrutiny for possibly being an unlicensed casino.
Last week, on March 27, God55 announced that it would become the club's official Asian betting partner. However, this news report has been removed from the Birmingham City Football Club website.
According to our report, a spokesperson for Birmingham City Football Club added: "We are delighted to welcome God55 to the Birmingham City Football Club family as our Asian official betting partner.
"This partnership highlights the club's growing international appeal and provides us with an opportunity to further engage with our Asian supporters. We look forward to working closely with God55 to achieve great success."
As part of this deal, God55 launched a film to celebrate the "collaboration between the two brands."
However, yesterday, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) revealed that it has no association with God55, and all 17 URLs of God55 are completely unauthorized.
Despite using the MGA logo on its website, the company does not hold a license from the agency and uses "false and misleading" methods to appear legitimate.
God55 also displayed the logo of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), although both the PAGCOR and MGA logos are outdated and do not link to any possible licensing information.
Online casinos must clearly display all licenses for any player or business to view, usually located at the footer of the website page, raising the question of how Birmingham City Football Club could have missed this.
A basic check on God55 online casino would reveal that the company does not have the licenses it claims to be regulated by.
