French National Lottery company FDJ and German online lottery group Zeal Network SE announced a joint strategic investment in Swedish iLottery and iBingo operator Random State. This investment aims to promote the company's business expansion, marketing capabilities, and product innovation, helping it develop in the global online lottery industry.
FDJ and Zeal implemented this round of investment through their respective subsidiaries FDJ United Ventures and Zeal Ventures. Zeal stated that this cooperation reflects its strategic goal of promoting global iLottery innovation and growth.
Zeal Ventures investment manager Juliane Gutsmiedl said: "The Random State team is highly competitive in game creativity and user insights. This cooperation will bring new momentum to our own investment portfolio."
Random State CEO Mattias Westolm added: "Our goal is to reshape the lottery experience, achieving digitalization, global connectivity, and user-centricity. This cooperation provides us with critical support to accelerate innovation and expand the market."
This move is also another important layout after FDJ announced its 2028 growth strategy. According to its forecast, the company's annual organic growth rate is expected to reach 5% over the next three years.
Meanwhile, the Swedish regulatory authority Spelinspektionen has initiated a review of national gambling regulations to address the challenges of illegal online gambling. The competitive and regulatory landscape in the online lottery sector is undergoing a new round of adjustments.
Another industry development is that Hasbro this week partnered with Scientific Games to introduce classic games such as Battleship and Monopoly into the iLottery content platform, further enriching the gameplay ecosystem.
Additionally, Zeal has welcomed a new CEO—Stefan Tweraser, injecting new vitality into the company's future development.
