As the trend of gambling legalization accelerates in South Asia, Sri Lanka is rapidly emerging as a new focal point in the regional gambling market. Recently, the well-known Asian gambling equipment supplier LT Game announced a partnership with Majestic Pride Casino in Sri Lanka, and the project has been fully operational within the iconic Lotus Tower (Lotus Tower) in Colombo. This has become an important part of the Paradise Entertainment Group's expansion into the Asian map.
According to the announcement, the cooperation project includes electronic gambling tables (ETGs), tablet terminal betting systems, and a variety of slot machine games provided by LT Game, with the entire system technology led by LT Game. This marks the first time Paradise Entertainment has deployed an integrated gambling technology solution in Sri Lanka, indicating that its new layout outside of Macau has begun to take effect.
The operator of Majestic Pride Casino is Majestic Group Hotels & Casinos from Goa, India, which is the largest offshore casino group in the area; this project is in collaboration with the local high-end hotel brand Golden Island Hospitality Private Limited in Sri Lanka. Golden Island owns multiple five-star hotels and high-end dining resources in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and other locations, possessing local market integration and customer conversion capabilities.
Meanwhile, another gambling giant Melco Resorts & Entertainment is also accelerating its project implementation in Sri Lanka. It is reported that Melco is constructing a large casino complex "City of Dreams" in the center of Colombo, marking its first major investment in South Asia and further confirming the growth potential of the Sri Lankan gambling market.
Majestic Pride, originally a representative of the offshore gambling industry in Goa, is now shifting to Sri Lanka, indicating its desire to reshape its development path in a more stable policy environment. The launch of the Lotus Tower project also symbolizes Colombo's move towards an integrated direction of "gambling + tourism + business".
Industry insiders generally believe that with the relaxation of policies and the accelerated entry of international capital, Sri Lanka is becoming "the next Philippines". Against the backdrop of a saturated traditional gambling market in Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka is attracting more and more international brands to see it as a springboard for their South Asian layout due to its geographical location, policies, and infrastructure advantages.
Currently, Colombo has gathered gambling and hotel enterprises from China, India, Macau, Europe, and America, with an increasingly intense competitive landscape and a project density comparable to the early days of Manila's Entertainment City. In the next five years, Sri Lanka is expected to become the next strategic high ground in the Asian gambling industry after the Philippines and Singapore.
