Swedish gambling regulator takes action again, banning three unlicensed operators from entering the domestic market.

The Swedish gambling regulatory authority, Spelinspektionen, recently announced a ban on three foreign operators that were providing services to Swedish players without a license. The latest to be banned is Liquid Entertainment NV, registered in Curaçao.

The regulatory body stated that this action stemmed from an investigation into the website duelbits.com, which is suspected of operating without a license. The investigation revealed that the website not only sets Sweden as the default country but also automatically displays the Swedish language interface when accessed via a Swedish IP. Additionally, the operator and its affiliates have been promoting themselves in the Swedish market through various channels, including affiliate websites, content creators, the video streaming platform Kick, and advertising on Google search engine.

Spelinspektionen pointed out that the platform currently has no mechanisms in place to prevent Swedish consumers from registering and opening accounts, clearly indicating its intention to target the Swedish market. Earlier this month, the agency had already imposed similar bans on Rabocse SRL (which operates websites such as gxmble.io and palmcasino.io) and Solid Software Solutions SRL (which operates solidlotto.com).

Spelinspektionen's consecutive actions demonstrate Sweden's ongoing efforts to strengthen its gambling market access regulations and resolutely prevent unlicensed operators from targeting local consumers. This series of actions also sends a clear signal to international gambling enterprises: entry into the Swedish market requires obtaining local licenses in accordance with the law.
