On July 9, 2024, the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO-13) in the Caraga region of the Philippines reported that between January and July, they conducted 238 raids and arrested 454 individuals suspected of involvement in illegal gambling. According to a report released on July 5, the police seized a total of 213,789 Philippine pesos.
Brigadier General Alan Nazarro, head of PRO-13, stated that the arrests involved illegal fruit machine games, video carera, digital games such as swertres, the last two and last three numbers, illegal cockfighting known as tukis-tukis, a card game called tong-its, and other forms of illegal number or dice games.
According to the Philippine News Agency, the Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) arrested 190 people, and the Agusan del Sur PPO arrested 102 people.
