Internet Vikings, a licensed cloud hosting provider, has expanded its partnership with iGaming solutions technology provider EveryMatrix to enhance data redundancy and meet regulatory requirements in West Virginia.
The partnership involves the use of Internet Vikings’ secondary data center in the state, which will provide EveryMatrix with a geographically independent site to ensure continuity of service and comply with West Virginia regulations for iGaming companies.
West Virginia requires iGaming operators to maintain a physically separate and redundant data center to guarantee continuity of service. This provision is intended to protect against disruptions such as cyberattacks or technical failures by ensuring that backup systems are in place.
EveryMatrix will leverage Internet Vikings' disaster recovery capabilities with a view to maintaining high availability and service reliability for its users.
Internet Vikings recognized the need for secondary data centers in West Virginia in 2023 to address increased risks such as ransomware attacks. The program is the first in the state to provide physical redundancy to iGaming operators. The expanded partnership with EveryMatrix highlights the importance of complying with disaster recovery regulations as a critical aspect of operations in West Virginia.
In June 2024, Internet Vikings expanded its partnership with PlayAGS to continue to provide hosting services for iGaming and online sports betting.
Additionally, the company received a license in Connecticut earlier this year and has expanded operations to 24 states. Internet Vikings has also expanded its presence in Pennsylvania by obtaining a temporary authorization for iGaming and a sportsbook manufacturer license in the state.
