According to Thai media, many Chinese and foreigners who were illegally working at the "King of Rome" casino in Laos fled to Thailand to hide. At the same time, many devices related to online fraud were smuggled to the Laos-Thailand border, where Thai police arrested and prosecuted a large number of cases.
On August 27, Chiang Rai police arrested 9 suspects at the border, including 2 Thais and 7 Chinese. They were traveling by car to Mae Sai in Chiang Rai Province. The police searched these two vehicles and found 215 mobile phones, laptops, SIM cards, and other items, leading to their detention for investigation.
On September 3, the Chiang Saen immigration investigation team arrested 34-year-old Chinese citizens Yan Tian Qin and Huang Xiang, both of whom will be charged with unauthorized entry and residence in Thailand.
