Indonesian officials stated that during a raid on a villa in Bali, law enforcement arrested 103 Taiwanese people, including 91 men and 12 women, who were accused of violating foreign visa and residence permit regulations and suspected of engaging in cybercrime.
According to the Associated Press, Indonesian officials said that the computers and mobile phones of these individuals have been confiscated, and they are being detained at a detention center in Denpasar, Bali Province. Authorities are investigating whether they have connections with international criminal organizations.
At a press conference on the 28th, immigration chief official Godam stated, "During the investigation, we learned that their criminal targets were in Malaysia. They operate in Indonesia, but the victims are in other countries, making it difficult to establish concrete evidence of the crime." He added that these 103 individuals would soon be deported.
Taiwan's "China Times News Network" cited Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirming that at least 14 of them are Taiwanese. Taiwan will send personnel to Bali and has urged Indonesian authorities to expedite the return of the suspects to Taiwan after completing the investigation.
