The Patagonian lottery celebrated 65 years.
Argentina.- On its 65th anniversary, the Instituto de Asistencia Social – Lotería del Chubut held the summit “Redefining Gaming: New Challenges and Opportunities” in the city of Trelew. The event gathered experts from across the country to discuss responsible gaming and the fight against gambling addiction.
Authorities, private business leaders, regulatory bodies, and officials from the Health and Education sectors of Chubut participated in panels that aimed primarily to raise awareness and promote good practices in education and the gaming industry.
Notable professionals and representatives from gaming operators led presentations that covered topics such as “Coexistence between physical and online gaming”; “Sports betting”; “Strategies, oversight, and responsible gaming”, led by Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (LOTBA); “Awareness on online games and betting”, led by the technical teams from the education and health sectors.
There was also a panel on “Cybercrime and reporting methodologies”, led by Fiscal Prosecutor Eugenia Dominguez, Sebastián Whaler, software developer from the Public Prosecutor's Office, and Analía Nahuelpan, legal representative of Lotería del Chubut. Finally, the study: “Betting is not a game”, was presented by Minister of the Superior Court of Justice Camila Banfi.

The event also brought together more than 150 high school students with their respective teachers who were invited by the IAS, and also featured the presence of the Vice Governor of Chubut Gustavo Menna, the mayor of Trelew, Gerardo Merino, deputies and provincial legislators.
The president of the IAS, Ramiro Ibarra, highlighted the importance of this summit, stating: “This event is the first of its kind in Argentina, as it manages to bring together lotteries and private entrepreneurs, with the firm purpose of fighting against gambling addiction, illegal gaming, and giving a strong boost to responsible gaming”.
