Up to five jobs will go at Finland’s state-owned gambling operator Veikkaus as it restructures many others.
The company is preparing for the roll-out of Finland’s multi-licensing system and said in September that it was to enter change negotiations with a cohort of employees.
The terms of employment for 30 jobs will “significantly change,” Veikkaus said.
But the operator added that the number of redundancies will depend on decisions regarding the acceptance of new roles offered to employees.
“New tasks and roles have been created through change negotiations. The organisation is being modified to better serve the requirements that the change in the gambling industry has brought us,” said Veikkaus’ HR and communications director Reija Laaksonen.
“We want to be a pioneer in the industry in the future as well, which produces economic well-being for its owner, the Finnish state, and thereby for all of us Finns.”
Decisions with the cohort of employees offered new roles will begin “as soon as possible,” Veikkaus said.
