Poker Tournament at Casino Peralada: the Spanish Championship prepares for its final stage

The final of the seventeenth season of the tournament will be held from November 27 to December 1 at the Girona casino.

Spain.- The Spanish Championship of Poker (CEP) by PokerStars is gearing up to celebrate the last stage of its seventeenth season. The venue for the final of the Spanish tournament will be held at the Casino Peralada, in Girona, from November 27 to December 1.

The schedule will feature a total of 4 events and various live satellites that will take place at Casino Barcelona and Casino Peralada. The main event of the championship has accumulated a total of 4,122 entries in its previous stages.

Omar Hernández, winner of the CEP Madrid, leads the overall ranking of the Main Event with a total of 2,355 points. 187 points behind is Guillermo Nuez, champion of the Mini CEP Barcelona (2023), while the third position is held by David Ballestero (2,090 points), champion of the Main Event of the CEP Barcelona held in March.

The Main Event (EUR500) will start on Wednesday, November 27 and will have 4 Day 1s. Day 1A will be played at Casino Barcelona, while the last will be Turbo. The Mini CEP (EUR250) has accumulated more than 1,100 entries. The other tournaments completing the schedule will be the Turbo Bounty and the Turbo Closer.

In August, the Spanish Championship of Poker (CEP) returned to Barcelona after its inaugural stage in February.

On the other hand, Casino Peralada hosted the Catalunya Poker Tour (CPT) for its second stop. The competition took place from September 27 to 29 and featured two tournaments, the Main Event and the Mini CPT.

Four years after its last edition, the tournament started at the Casino Barcelona from July 1 to 7, where 1,767 entries were registered. The schedule consisted of 15 events and live satellites.

The public gaming sector reached €5,000m, compared to €1,200m from online gaming and €1,170m from live gaming. The General Directorate for Gambling Regulation (DGOJ) published its new Annual Gaming Report 2023, which collects the most relevant data from the Spanish market. This report has been prepared by the DGOJ in collaboration with the different autonomous communities.
