Law enforcement officers from the Cambodian National Police successfully raided a building in the Meanchey district of Phnom Penh, dismantling a criminal den suspected of engaging in illegal online gambling and telecommunications fraud.
In this operation, the police arrested nearly 200 suspects from China and Pakistan, who are alleged to have participated in these illegal activities. The law enforcement action was initiated swiftly in response to reports from victims.
The complainants claimed they were illegally detained in the building, prompting the police to immediately investigate and carry out the raid.
Currently, all the foreign nationals involved have been detained and will be subject to further legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, the police have stated that they will pursue the owners and related responsible persons of the premises and hold them criminally accountable under the law.
