The group was composed of Chinese citizens and they managed more than 400 illegal online gaming sites aimed at defrauding Brazilian bettors.
Brazil.- The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) of Angola arrested 46 Chinese citizens and dismantled an international criminal network that operated a virtual casino in Luanda with more than 400 online gaming sites to deceive Brazilian and Nigerian bettors. The operation involved the National Police, the General Labor Inspection (IGT), the Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ), the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), and the Migration Service.
The Chinese citizens were detained at the Sunshine Hotel, where they conducted their clandestine activities. The defendants created more than 400 online gaming sites, whose players are exclusively Brazilian citizens located in various cities of Brazil. In other games, the bettors are exclusively Nigerian citizens. In addition to the arrests, 223 computers and 113 mobile phones were seized.
According to Manoel Faria, spokesperson for the SIC, the bettors accessed the gaming platform, whose main objective was computer fraud, through a system that generates constant losses for the bettors.
"Although the call center is in Angolan territory, we were able to verify, through the computers installed here, that the bettors of these online games are only Brazilians residing in Brazil who injected amounts in reals," explained Faria.
Also found were 113 Angolan workers. After the investigations, the researchers discovered that in this scheme the Angolans work in interaction with the game users and in the marketing area, in order to generate engagement with fake profiles, where they advertise and promote bets.
It was also detected that within the criminal structure is the area of collaboration. In this case, it is the Brazilians who act as mobilizers for other people to join the games and whoever is willing to carry out this activity within Brazilian territory has a percentage for each player won.

"The platform can have up to 40 players at once, who make many bets and almost always lose. And after achieving their objectives with a certain type of game, they disconnect it and launch new types of games," explained investigator Faria.
