Around 1 AM yesterday, a 52-year-old Taiwanese man was found dead in the parking lot of a hotel in the Marco Polo area of Cebu City. The local police have intervened to investigate the cause of death.

According to the Marco Polo police, the case was first discovered by a passing public utility jeepney (PUJ) driver. It is reported that the driver saw a man who appeared to be drunk lying motionless in the parking lot and immediately reported the situation to the hotel security.

The hotel security then checked the scene and called the police. The police confirmed in a preliminary investigation that the man was deceased and identified as Taiwanese, but the specific cause of death has not yet been announced.

The police stated that it is currently unclear whether the man died from alcohol poisoning or other factors.

Relevant departments have launched a detailed investigation, including retrieving hotel surveillance footage and further examining the scene to rule out the possibility of external forces.

The Cebu police urge any witnesses with information to contact them as soon as possible to assist in reconstructing the incident. Further developments in the case are pending the forensic report and further investigation by the police.
