Argentina.- The Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos of Misiones (IPLyC Misiones) continues to bring its program Look Better to different points of the province. In recent days, an operation was carried out in the town of Dos Arroyos, which was attended by Governor Hugo Passalacqua.
During the day, about 120 neighbors received primary eye care, consultations and deliveries of glasses for free under the supervision of professionals from the Ophthalmological Society of Misiones (SOMI). The organizers of the meeting reported that much of the demand was focused on discomfort due to eye fatigue and difficulties in seeing up close, facts that motivated the approach of the initiative led by the Government and coordinated by the IPLyC.
The Look Better program started on August 20 last year, and since the initiative began, about 1,400 Misioneros received comprehensive ophthalmological care in 16 municipalities. In addition, more than 1,200 people received glasses.
The governor Passalacqua noted that the program "is a very quick procedure and free of charge for people from 60 towns that do not have an ophthalmologist; this awakened the need to visit them and offer them the possibility to see better."
Furthermore, the governor said that each operation hears impactful anecdotes. "I am happy to bring very important solutions to their place, to their home, without the need to ask for an appointment in another town; it is changing a person's life, it is changing the whole universe," he conveyed.
For his part, the president of the IPLyC, Héctor Rojas Decut, said that "Look Better is a program that brings a lot of happiness because it provides each neighbor a solution, where there is primary care and a specific diagnosis, at no cost thanks to the investment made by the provincial state."
Also, Rojas Decut specified: "It is a simple program, very useful and that generates a lot of acceptance and joy to people, because sight is a vital organ and having an ailment affects life, so with this proposal we improve it and change the quality of life."
Last month, the IPLyC Misiones brought its Look Better program to the neighbors of the town of Profundidad. Representatives of the initiative organized the day in a hall of the municipality, where more than 60 neighbors from the area received medical attention.
The Ombudsman's Office of the city of Posadas, together with the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC Misiones) and the Provincial Institute of Statistics and Censuses (IPEC), presented on November 27 the results corresponding to the Survey on Gambling in Adolescents (EJAA).
