Recently, the Cambodian whistleblower Xing Shidi, who has become popular on the internet, claimed through the Cambodia Daily that the Director-General of the Cambodian National Police, Su Tong, accepted a $5 million bribe from Singaporean businessman Pan Yicheng (transliteration).
Xing Shidi alleges that Pan Yicheng, a Singaporean businessman who has become a Cambodian citizen, bribed Su Tong with $5 million and also requested that Xing Shidi be placed on the Interpol's wanted list.
In response, a spokesperson for the Cambodian National Police issued a statement today, vehemently denying the allegations and emphasizing that the report is maliciously motivated, aimed at spreading false information for personal gain.
