A man in his 30s from Tainan, surnamed Chen, told his family on November 12 that he would be out working for three days, but then disappeared without a trace.

Later, after his family reported him missing, it was discovered that he had left the country and flown to Thailand. Soon after, they received a message from him stating that he was now at a park on the Thai-Myanmar border. With the help of legislator Lin Junxian, the man successfully boarded a Thai Airways flight back to Kaohsiung Xiaogang on the 22nd. The family said they felt utterly hopeless until now, finally able to set their worries aside.

They supported their son tightly, as it was the first time they had seen each other in over a month since he was deceived into going to the park at the Thai-Myanmar border.

Family member: "I felt completely powerless at the moment, I didn't know what to say, I couldn't eat or sleep, I didn't know how to get through the days, I felt life was hopeless."

Reporter Xu Yudun: "This person from Tainan, after flying to the Thai-Myanmar border in mid-November, finally managed to return to Taiwan on a Thai Airways TG630 flight after a month."

Dressed in light clothing and flip-flops, the man carried no luggage. During his month in the park, he was filled with despair, saying that the other party just wanted money. He risked giving his family a precise location but insisted that they must not reveal the name of the park, which could change locations. He would try to survive first, and eventually, with the help of legislator Lin Junxian, his family was able to rescue him.

Family member: "I feel that life has its ups and downs, it was almost an impossible mission in just under five days, but he (the legislator) helped me, and now I can slowly let go of the stone in my heart."

The man in his 30s from Tainan, who had told his family on November 12 that he would be out working for three days, disappeared without any news. His family urgently reported him missing, only to find out that he had already left the country for Thailand. In early December, they finally received a message from their son saying he was in a park on the Thai-Myanmar border, living a life worse than death. His parents were extremely anxious and sought help from Tainan legislator Lin Junxian. From confirming his location in the park to successfully rescuing him, it took only five days.

Legislator Lin Junxian: "(In the park) they forced him to engage in scams, and he was beaten every few days. His father came to me on December 14, and we were able to locate him through some local connections. Fortunately, by December 20, a week later, we were able to get him out of the park."

During those crucial five days, legislator Lin Junxian successfully rescued the man through his connections. Although the man was greatly traumatized, being able to safely return to Taiwan and spend the New Year with his family was what mattered most.
