Betsul, a reference among the leading sports betting houses in Latin America, announced its partnership with the Compulsafe program, developed by the Brazilian Company for Support to Compulsives (EBAC). The project aims to promote Responsible Gaming, identifying obsessive behaviors among bettors and providing support through reception and psychoeducation, in compliance with regulatory requirements established by the Federal Government.
With the adherence to the program, Betsul is developing an action plan aimed at educating the public about safe betting practices and managing dependency cases. The proposal includes personalized service and individualized diagnosis of bettors who show signs of disorders, aiming to minimize extreme cases, reinforce good practices in the sector, and the well-being of players.
“This partnership represents a very important step for Betsul. We want to offer a safe and ethical betting environment, where the well-being of our customers is always a priority. In addition to meeting all the norms of the regulation, as pioneers, we want to be protagonists in actions that transform the segment and strengthen the public's trust”, states Andréia Oliveira, director of operations of the company.
Coordinated by EBAC, the initiative provides specialized support for partner companies. With two years of operation, the institution is recognized for welcoming compulsive bettors free of charge, offering psychological screening, specialized support, and psychoeducational programs lasting up to eight weeks.
The organization also certifies companies that adopt good practices of Responsible Gaming, ensuring compliance with current legislation. “With a group of experts full of competencies and skills on the subject, we are positioned to meet the demands of companies in the fields of psychology, communication, organizational management, and compliance in the gaming industry”, highlights Cristiano Costa, psychologist and director of knowledge at EBAC.
A reference in the betting market, Betsul was created in 2019, being the first betting house in national territory to achieve the RA1000 seal from Reclame Aqui. The company offers full support 24 hours a day to always ensure the best experience for its players, in addition to maintaining initiatives that prioritize conscious gaming.
By registering on the site, for those over 18 years old, the player has access to a wide range of sports and national and international competitions, casinos, live casinos, eSports, and instant games.

The Mineira da Sorte Lottery (MSL), responsible for operating the Raspadinha® and Trem das 11 games in Minas Gerais, received the prestigious level 2 certification from the World Lottery Association (WLA), which recognizes it as one of the few organizations to rigorously follow the global guidelines for Responsible Gaming. In Brazil, only MSL and Caixa Econômica Federal have this recognition, consolidating their commitment to ethical and safe practices.
Among the criteria evaluated for certification are the ability to perform continuous self-assessments, identify gaps, and implement strategies to avoid harmful practices to bettors. MSL also stood out for its investment in robust training for employees and partners, the creation of educational programs to raise awareness among players, and the establishment of support and treatment channels for those in need.
For the CEO of MSL, Roberto Quattrini, this certification endorses the group's commitment.
“This achievement reaffirms our commitment, as responsible gaming is the foundation of our business. By meeting the rigorous standards of the WLA, we show how much we value the protection of our players, support for communities, and ensuring that gaming continues to be a positive and fun experience”.
Winner of the International Public Competition No. 001/2023, MSL (Mineira da Sorte Lottery) officially took over in 2023 the operation of the instant game Raspadinha®, and in 2024, in the passive mode, the Trem das 11, from the Lottery of the State of Minas Gerais (LEMG). Through a public concession in an exclusive regime, the company began to manage the services in the Minas Gerais territory, inaugurating a new phase for the sector in the state.
With a concession contract valid for 20 years, signed in June 2023, MSL set ambitious goals from the start, including achieving the WLA RGF (Responsible Gaming Framework) certification by May 2025. The group exceeded expectations and achieved recognition almost six months ahead of schedule, in December 2024.
Resulting from a rigorous evaluation conducted by an international and independent jury, composed of renowned experts in corporate social responsibility, this certification is based on fundamental pillars established by the WLA, ensuring that MSL's practices are aligned with the highest standards of responsible gaming.
With four levels of certification in the WLA program, MSL is already aiming for the next goal: achieving WLA RGF level 3. To this end, the company continues to invest in robust and strategic actions, reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility, game integrity, and the positive experience of bettors.
Resulting from a consortium between the two main global lottery providers, IGT and Scientific Games, with more than 35 years of experience and structure to operate lottery systems in more than 100 countries, MSL also counts on the expertise of the national company SAGA BGI.
“We are a group with extensive experience in the lottery sector in Brazil and are preparing significant investments in marketing. In addition, we rely on the knowledge of leading global market companies”, says Quattrini.
The segment continues to expand in other markets around the world. In Italy, IGT and SG launched the national instant ticket lottery in 2004 and increased sales from approximately USD 400 million to more than USD 11 billion. In New Jersey (USA), IGT and SG jointly manage the lottery since 2013 and have seen an annual sales increase of 20% since the start of the contract.

The nearly BRL 2.5 billion in bets on Mega da Virada allowed Caixa Loterias to break the revenue record in 2024, surpassing the figure of BRL 25.6 billion for the year. The detailed values will still be disclosed by Caixa, but can already be measured from the social transfers made until November and by the revenue announced, contest by contest, in December, according to Folha de S.Paulo. Despite this, revenue has remained at the same level for 3 years.
The amount obtained comes in the year when the regulation of online fixed-odds betting (the so-called bets), a model that competes with the lotteries explored by Caixa by monopoly, came into effect.
The BRL 209.6 million transferred until November to the Brazilian Paralympic Committee – which is entitled to 0.96% of the revenue from the main lotteries – indicates a revenue of BRL 21.84 billion from the lotteries until the end of that month.
In December, only Mega da Virada, according to Caixa, raised BRL 2.49 billion, an increase of 2.6% compared to the 2023 edition, in absolute values.
Combined, the other contests of Mega-Sena, Loto Fácil, Quina, Lotomania, and +Milionária in the last month of the year reached another BRL 1.3 billion in bets – also part of the lottery menu are Dupla Sena, Loteca, Federal Lottery, Super Seven, and Day of Luck, which have a smaller participation.
Until now, the record for revenue was 2022, when BRL 25.5 billion (in adjusted values) were bet.
Before the covid-19 pandemic, the record for lottery revenue occurred in the years 2014 and 2015, when bets moved more than BRL 23 billion per year, also in adjusted values.
The increase in lottery revenue also means a larger transfer to entities and funds that benefit from social contributions.
The Brazilian Olympic Committee received BRL 377 million until November. With the BRL 63 million guaranteed just by Mega, Loto Fácil, and Quina in December, the transfer will exceed BRL 440 million. In 2022, the entity received BRL 436 million, adjusted by IPCA.
The National Culture Fund, which obtained BRL 720 million in 2022, will surpass the figure of BRL 732 million. The criteria for this division, provided for in Law 13.756/2018, have been the same since 2019.
