According to the report from the Neuquén Gambling Institute (IJAN), the implementation of technology and dissemination campaigns were key to the growth in revenue.
Argentina.- According to authorities from the government of the province of Neuquén, the Neuquén Gambling Institute (IJAN) recorded a revenue record during 2024.
Guillermo Koenig, Minister of Economy, Production and Industry of the Patagonian province, revealed the good performance of the agency during the presentation of the management report of the portfolio he directs. It is worth remembering that IJAN depends on the Undersecretary of Public Revenue, from the Secretariat of Treasury and Finance.
As explained by the official, the entity that regulates gambling in Neuquén improved its results thanks to "the incorporation of digital tools and innovative advertising campaigns."
Among them, Koenig highlighted the implementation of an advanced Artificial Intelligence model called “IJAN Normalizer 2.0”, aimed at automating the creation and review of legal documents, presented in September by the head of IJAN, Raúl Béttiga.
The goal of this initiative, which is being implemented gradually, is “to work towards excellence, raise its quality standards and continuously improve its processes, to ensure a more efficient management aligned with the sector's regulations,” they explained.

On the other hand, during the presentation of the report, the authorities highlighted the transfer of AR$1.100m (USD1m) in files aimed at education, sports, infrastructure, and community assistance, the agreement signed with the Public Prosecutor's Office, and the inauguration of the casino in Centenario. Through that gaming room, 240 new direct jobs were generated and local investments in essential infrastructure were boosted.
Regarding the general operation of the Ministry of Economy, Production and Industry, Koenig celebrated: “Revenues increased by 269 percent and expenses by 225 percent. That might seem like a cold number, but there was a containment of spending so that the balance could be surplus”.
