As part of the agreement, training sessions will be held in different areas of the province of Neuquén to prevent this crime.
Argentina.- The Provincial Institute of Gambling of Neuquén (IJAN) signed a work agreement with the civil association Grooming Argentina to develop training for the population on grooming and violence in the digital environment and its relation to illegal gambling.
The vice president of the provincial agency, Diego Viscardi, the executive director of Grooming Argentina, Hernán Navarro and Nicolas Taboada, from the Legal department of IJAN, participated in the signing of the agreement held at the IJAN offices in the provincial capital
According to the authorities, the trainings will be held once a month in different areas of Neuquén and includes staff from the provincial institute.
Grooming is the sexual harassment of children and adolescents through digital means, consisting of actions generally carried out by adults, aimed at establishing contact for sexual purposes. It is a practice in which an adult pretends to be someone trustworthy to gain the friendship of a minor, with the aim of abusing him or her.
“IJAN considers combating grooming as crucial because it protects minors from online dangers. Fighting against grooming is a shared responsibility among parents, educators, authorities, and the community in general,” IJAN stated.

Through this collaboration, IJAN integrates the fight against grooming with its mission to promote responsible gambling, raising awareness about the risks associated with the use of digital environments and illegal betting. The provincial institute explained that this reinforces its commitment to social responsibility, considering that the prevention of grooming is a shared responsibility among parents, educators, authorities, and the community.
Additionally, within the framework of the Responsible Gaming and Social Responsibility programs, IJAN conducts the “Cared Childhoods and Adolescences” workshops, aimed at teachers and responsible adults, and the “Friends of Technology” workshop for teenagers. These programs not only promote the healthy use of digital tools but also differentiate pathological gambling from responsible gambling, contributing to creating safer environments for children.
Grooming Argentina, founded in 2014 as the first global organization to combat this crime, brings its multidisciplinary experience in prevention and awareness, becoming a strategic ally for IJAN in its goal to make a positive impact on the Neuquén community.
Last week, representatives from the Responsible Gaming and Social Responsibility area of the Institute of Gambling of Neuquén (IJAN) and members of the Mental Health department of the provincial Ministry of Health held a work meeting on problematic and digital consumptions.
The meeting was held at the Ministerial Administrative Center and was attended by Diana Fusco and Francisco Gallegos from the Responsible Gaming and Social Responsibility area of IJAN; Paula Alegría, head of Mental Health and Gustavo Lucero, advisor to the Ministry of Security.
