The company renewed its alliance with the University Hospital of Bellvitge and its Biomedical Research Institute for a period of three years.
Spain.- Casinos Grup Peralada (Casino Barcelona, Casino Perelada, Casino Tarragona, and Casino Barcelona Online) renewed its collaboration agreement on responsible gaming with the University Hospital of Bellvitge and its Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL). The institutions have renewed the agreement, extending its duration to a period of three years.
Last year, through the collaboration of the institutions, about 700 employees of Casinos Grup Peralada were trained in the early identification of potential risk behaviors and in communication skills with the customer, these being more than 95 percent of the staff.
Miguel Suqué, president of Casinos Grup Peralada, conveyed: "We are very proud to expand and deepen our pioneering collaboration with the Hospital de Bellvitge. Cooperation between the private sector and public institutions is absolutely necessary to promote a new culture of gaming in which this activity is practiced from the realm of entertainment and under controllable limits."
Susana Jiménez, coordinator of the Pathological Gambling and Behavioral Addictions Unit at the Hospital de Bellvitge and head of the research group at IDIBELL, valued the collaboration carried out to date and stated that "it is necessary to minimize the risk of addiction to gambling. Working together in identifying risk behaviors, as well as in protecting the most vulnerable game consumers, is a shared responsibility."
In this regard, Jiménez emphasized that "visibility, awareness, training to recognize risk signals, and learning skills to handle complex situations contribute to achieving greater safety in this activity, offering support and information about assistance devices and prevention resources."
Pol González, Director of Responsible Gaming at Casinos Grup Peralada, explained that "we develop an effective and efficient Responsible Gaming policy with the aim of managing gambling as a socially sustainable activity, promoting the collaboration of all involved groups according to the philosophy of prevention, awareness, and information."

In 2023, Casinos Grup Peralada celebrated the recognition given by the European Casino Association (ECA) to its three casinos, Casino Barcelona, Casino Perelada, and Casino Tarragona, which received the Responsible Gaming Seal, becoming the first land-based casinos in Spain to receive it.
