1. Interpretation of Meta's Advertising Violation Management Measures
Starting from March 2024, Meta will enhance the management of third-party apps promoted through "App Install" ads on its platform. This measure aims to address those apps that repeatedly violate Meta's advertising policies and developer policies. If an app is restricted due to violations, all ads promoting that app or "App Install" ads will be halted.
(I) Violation Handling Mechanism
Advertisers who violate policies will be notified of the violation each time and have the opportunity to appeal. However, if the number of penalties related to the app's ads reaches a threshold, penalties will be applied at the app level, such as the app being taken down.
(II) Audit Request Process
(1) Visit the Business Support homepage on desktop.
(2) Go to the "Business Account" tab.
(3) View restrictions and violating ads.
(4) Click "Request Review" and provide reasons.
(5) Identity verification is required during the review process.
(III) Appeal Process
After the ad restrictions are lifted, app administrators can submit an app appeal through Meta for Developers.
II. Recommendations for Advertisers
To prevent your advertising clients from losing access to the app, it is strongly recommended that advertisers ensure all ads related to the app fully comply with Meta's advertising policies and developer policies. Adjust violating content and appeal promptly after receiving a violation notice, and regularly monitor ad status to maintain compliance.
