Recently, many app advertisers have encountered the situation of no data feedback in the ad account while placing ads on Meta, and the incidents of Meta banning apps have also started to occur frequently. This is likely due to the impact of Meta's new policies.
If you receive a notification like the one shown above when checking the app status, it is usually due to:
Too many violations of Meta's advertising rules by the app; too many account bans on Meta
Latest Policy Interpretation
Starting March 3, Meta has strengthened the management of third-party apps promoted through "App Install" ads on the platform. Meta's latest policy aims to address apps that repeatedly violate Meta's advertising and developer policies.
If an app is restricted due to violations, all ads promoting that app or "App Install" ads will be stopped. Advertisers who violate the policy will be notified of the violation each time and will have the opportunity to appeal.
If the number of penalties related to the app's ads reaches a threshold, penalties will be applied at the app level, such as the app being taken down.
Violation Handling and Appeal Process
Advertisers who violate the policy have the opportunity to appeal against rejected ads and banned accounts when notified of the violation. After the ad restrictions are reviewed through the appeal, the app administrator can submit an app appeal through Meta for Developers to lift the restricted app.
Appeal Request Process
1 Visit the business support homepage on desktop
2 Go to the "Business Account" tab
3 View restrictions and violations
4 Click the "Request Review" button and provide reasons
5 Perform identity verification, send review process
Advertiser Recommendations
To avoid app access restrictions due to violations, ensure all ads related to the app fully comply with Meta's advertising policies and developer guidelines. If notified of a violation, adjust the violating content immediately and submit an appeal, while regularly monitoring ad status to maintain compliance.
1 Strictly follow policies:
From content materials to audience targeting, all must comply with Meta's latest requirements (such as restrictions on ads for teenagers, advanced empowerment material standards, etc.)
2 Respond quickly to violations:
Locate violating ads/accounts through Meta's "Business Account" feature, submit appeal materials, and complete identity verification
