Google Personalized Advertising Policy Update

On March 14, 2025, Google Ads' personalized advertising policy will be updated to allow personalized settings for app ad campaigns, promoting the skill games "Daily Fantasy Sports" and "Rummy" apps to users in India.

Cryptocurrency and Related Products Policy Update

Starting February 26, 2025, advertising clients offering cryptocurrency exchanges and software wallets in the United Arab Emirates can promote these products and services upon meeting the following requirements and obtaining Google certification.

United Arab Emirates (Cryptocurrency Exchanges and Software Wallets)

As long as the advertising clients obtain permission from (a) the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), (b) the Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA), or (c) the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), Google will allow them to place ads for cryptocurrency exchanges and cryptocurrency wallets targeting the United Arab Emirates. Ads must comply with any other local legal requirements.

Gambling and Gaming Policy Update

On March 11, 2025, Google Ads' gambling and gaming policy (for specific states/regions in the USA) will be updated. We will begin accepting online horse racing ads from state-authorized entities in Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, North Carolina, Vermont, and Washington. Advertisers wishing to promote horse racing content in these regions must apply for certification.

YouTube Adjusts Advertising Policy: Reducing Ad Disruptions, Optimizing Creator Revenue

YouTube announces that on May 12, it will adjust its mid-roll advertising policy to improve the viewing experience and potentially increase creator revenue.

YouTube plans to reduce ads at critical moments, such as interrupting sentences or action scenes, and instead increase ads at natural pauses and transitions. This change aims to balance ad display with audience experience, avoiding overly abrupt ads that lead to user loss.

For videos uploaded before February 24, 2024, YouTube will automatically update ad insertion points to align with natural pauses. However, creators who wish to manage ad display themselves can still opt out of this feature in YouTube Studio.

YouTube also reminds that if creators choose to retain disruptive ad insertion points, these videos may face a risk of reduced ad revenue after May 12.

To help creators manage ads more effectively, YouTube will introduce new tools that issue warnings when ad insertion points are unreasonable, suggesting creators adjust ad placement to natural pauses. For creators who choose to manually insert ads, the platform encourages them to try combining the automatic detection feature, allowing the system to identify other appropriate times for ad display, optimizing the overall ad layout.
