The Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) of Thailand held a press conference to announce the issuance of arrest warrants for 15 Thais involved in online gambling, with 5 already arrested and the remaining 10 still being pursued. This operation is a continued crackdown on a call center criminal gang in the Poipet area of Cambodia.

Case Background: Poipet Call Center Gang Busted

The arrest operation originated from a Cambodian government raid in February 2024 on criminal dens on Poipet Street, where 119 Thai nationals were arrested and handed over to Thai police for investigation. To date, 93 of them have been arrested and charged with:

Participation in a transnational criminal organization

Formation of a criminal gang

Defrauding the public

Entering false information into computer systems, causing public harm

Additionally, 7 Thais were arrested by Thai police on the day of their arrival in Thailand for other crimes.

Latest Developments: 15 Wanted for Organizing Online Gambling

Further investigations revealed that 15 Thais are suspected of operating online gambling activities in the K2 Building, organizing Thai participants through LINE groups.

Among them, 4 suspects are minors (aged 17 and 15), who, along with 11 adults, were involved in the operation and management of online gambling.

Police Action: Ongoing Pursuit, Strict Crackdown on Transnational Crime

Currently, Thai police have issued arrest warrants for these 15 individuals on charges of "participation in a transnational criminal organization," "joining a criminal gang," and "organizing illegal gambling," with 5 already captured and the remaining 10 still being pursued.

The Thai police emphasize the continuation of strengthened cooperation with Cambodian law enforcement to completely eradicate this transnational criminal network, ensuring that no Thais become tools or victims of criminal gangs. The police urge the public to actively provide information to combat illegal online gambling and maintain social safety.
