An investment of approximately USD 900,000 will be allocated to the creation of an exclusive gambling space in the Atlántico Shopping mall.
Uruguay.- The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), through the General Directorate of Casinos (DGC), approved the installation of a new gambling room in Maldonado. The project, which will be carried out by the company MTA S.A., will have a total cost of $U38m (USD 897,000) and is expected to recoup the investment in just over two years.
The new casino will be located in the Atlántico Shopping complex, a few blocks from the city center and the bus terminal, giving it a strategic location. Additionally, the complex will house four towers and will include a shopping center, offering a unique opportunity for the development of this gambling room, exclusively designed for the operation of slot machines.
From the DGC, it is considered that this investment is not only viable but also profitable, and they have highlighted the importance of installing a modern recreation room. In this regard, the commercial area of the DGC suggested "not to miss the opportunity to install a cutting-edge recreation room."
The contract with the State for the lease of two commercial premises in Atlántico Shopping has an initial duration of five years, with a possible automatic extension for an additional two years, and includes a monthly payment of $U 90,000 (USD 2,100) for common expenses.
Meanwhile, the DGC continues with the tender process for the concession of other associated services, such as the cafeteria, bar, confectionery, and surveillance for the new gaming room.
