G&M Events Paraguay 2025 presented a promising future for the local gaming market

Following this meeting in Paraguay, next conferences will be G&M Events Colombia (April 2nd and 3rd in Bogota), and G&M Events Peru (June 16th in Lima), with registrations already available.

The Guarani Hotel in the city of Asuncion was the venue for two days (Wednesday, March 5th and Thursday, March 6th) that brought together gaming experts from Paraguay and Latin America for the second edition of G&M Events Paraguay 2025, the most important gaming event held in the country.

With the active participation of important C-Level executives of land-based and online gaming at a local and regional level, the gathering provided a clear and promising overview of the present and future of the activity in Paraguay, with information on regulatory changes, the opening of the market and the integration of regulatory body CONAJZAR into the National Directorate of Tax Revenue (DNIT).

At G&M Events Paraguay, the operators stood out, with the attendance of representatives from Andro Mier, Aposta.la, Betpositivo.com, Bingow, CAIE U.S. (Sportbook & Casino), Casino Cerro Cora S.A., Casino Magic Neuquen (Argentina), Casinos Paraguayos, Central Club SA, City Center Iguazu (Argentina), Daruma Sam SA, Dexterity S.A., Gallag SRL, Hotei SRL, JugaMax, La Lasser, Las Vegas, Los Nogales S.A., MHO Digital EIRL, MIC Group Paraguay E.A.S., NossaBet, Nucleo SA, Orobet, Ozio S.A., Proyecto Pro – Jackpotcity, Rush Street Interactive, Site Developments, Slots del Sol, Solbet Paraguay, Stars Entertainments, Systems Games, Talisman S.A., Tarquino SA, and Vikingos SRL. Regarding sponsors, there were renowned firms such as Evolution, Aposta.la, SMI2000, and GLI.

 

A MEETING BETWEEN PEERS, WITH KEY INFORMATION ABOUT THE MARKET

Networking began on the evening of Tuesday, March 4th, with an exquisite welcome dinner at El Bodegon. The following day, the intense academic cycle began, which included panels with interesting debates and presentations.

The morning of Wednesday, March 5th had the panels “Legal and Technical Keys of the New Regulation of Gaming and Betting in Paraguay”, with Carlos Liseras (President of the National Commission of Games of Chance of Paraguay, CONAJZAR), Georges Didier Flores (Regional Director for Latin America at GLI), Carlos Sacco (Lawyer, specialist in gaming legal issues), and Hugo Barreto (Consultant of Barreto and Associates), moderated by Roman Frymer (Content Manager at G&M News); and “The Businesswomen of Gaming. Transferring experiences, fostering equality, and promoting collaborative work in the sector”, led by Barbara Larraburu (Lawyer and consultant specialized in gaming compliance), with the presence of Maria Carolina Cruz (Directive Committee of Casino Magic Neuquen, Argentina), Zhana Aleksandrova (Business Development Manager for Latin America at 7777 Gaming), and Raquel Osorio (Marketing Manager of the Paraguayan Association of Gaming Operators, APOJA).

There was also a very interesting presentation, “From Paraguay to the World: Benefits and Opportunities for the Tourism Sector”, by Norman Noguera (Head of the Department of Tourism Product Generation of the National Secretariat of Tourism of Paraguay). In the afternoon, tourism was enhanced with a visit to the Conmebol Museum. Meanwhile, at night, there was more networking with a delicious dinner sponsored by Evolution at the Churrasqueria O Gaucho.

The following day, Thursday, March 6th, was characterized by more high-quality debates. In the morning, there were different panels. First, there was “Gaming Scene in Paraguay. The Operators’ View”, with Alejandro Tamayo (General Manager of Aposta.la), Luis Traversa (COO at Nossabet), Raul Caviedes (Director of Antares S.A.), and Hernan Garritano as moderator (Country Manager for the Southern Cone of Latin America at Amusnet). This was followed by “The Key Role of LatAm Gaming Associations in the Fight Against Illegality”, with Rodolfo Cattaneo (Executive Director of the Argentine Chamber of Casinos, Bingos and Annexes, CASCBA), Pablo Bergesio (representative of the Paraguayan Association of Gambling Operators, APOJA), Ricardo Solano (CEO of Solano Abogados and president of OJADA, Remote Gaming and Sports Betting Operators of Peru), and the coordination of Luis Zanazzi (Gaming Sector Consultant). Finally, before lunch, there was “Legality, Responsible Gaming and the Fight against LAFT. Axes for a dynamic and transparent industry in Latin America”, with Javier Balbuena (Former President of the National Gaming Commission of Paraguay, CONAJZAR, and current Director of Gaming Consultants), the aforementioned Ricardo Solano and Lucas Apud Masin (President of the Loteria Chaqueña, Argentina), moderated by Roman Frymer (G&M News).

In the afternoon, the dialogue “Regulation Meeting. Management challenges to strengthen the future of gambling in Paraguay” took place, with Javier Balbuena (Former President of CONAJZAR) and Carlos Liseras (current President of CONAJZAR), and the panel “Compliance and Good Practices in Gaming Companies”, with Barbara Larraburu (Lawyer and consultant specialized in gambling compliance), Diego Marcet (Specialist in AML and Corporate Governance, and CEO of GB Consulting), Humberto Acuña (Legal Representative of Casino Amambay), and moderation by Georges Didier Flores (Regional Director for Latin America at GLI). Finally, the icing on the cake of the event was the long-awaited presentation on the tax sector in Paraguay and the new link with CONAJZAR, by Oscar Orue (Head of the National Directorate of Tax Revenue, DNIT).

Then, there was time for the presentation of awards to Alejandro Tamayo (Aposta.la) and Javier Balbuena (Gaming Consultores) for their contributions to the industry in Paraguay, an entertaining truco tournament and a closing cocktail at the Hotel Guarani Asuncion. Thus, two days full of ideas, experiences and shared knowledge that were taken advantage of by the attendees of G&M Events Paraguay 2025 came to an end.
