The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has listed four additional online sites offering illegal gambling, requesting Australian Internet Service Providers (ISP) to block them.
The list of illegal online gambling sites includes Megabet Prize, Mega Medusa, TF2Royal, and Casino Intense.
TF2Royal is a coin toss site with opportunities to win esports items, while the other sites operate as standard online casinos.
In 2017, Australia introduced stricter online gambling regulations, leading to 220 illegal service providers voluntarily exiting the market.
For those companies that refused to leave after being identified, Australian authorities have begun exploring a range of enforcement options, with website blocking being one of them.
ACMA also emphasized that even if illegal gambling sites appear legitimate, they may lack several key aspects besides not having a license.
It is worth noting that since ACMA first requested blocking in November 2019, 1,210 illegal gambling and affiliate sites have been blocked.
These usually include customer protection tools, such as responsible gambling and enforcement capabilities to recover any money illegally lost or taken by the sites.
For transparency and protection, ACMA provides a complete list of gambling services licensed to operate in Australia on its website in the form of a business registry.
This includes a list of operators and the state or regional licensing authorities responsible for them.
