International Game Technology (IGT) has signed a seven-year renewal contract with Lotto Thüringen in Germany to implement its Aurora central lottery system and upgrade software.
The new system is scheduled to go live in March 2026, aiming to modernize lottery operations and enhance efficiency.
The Aurora platform is part of the IGT Omnia omnichannel solution, designed to streamline transaction processing, game management, and backend functions. It features a suite of tools and reporting capabilities intended to help Lotto Thüringen meet evolving operational demands.
Regarding the contract renewal, Jochen Staschewski, CEO of Lotto Thüringen, stated, "Throughout our decades of collaboration, Lotto Thüringen has consistently relied on IGT's versatile and powerful central system technology.
"Upgrading our central retail system to IGT's advanced platform and backend software will allow us to streamline business processes and continue operating at peak efficiency."
Jay Gendron, IGT's Chief Operating Officer of Global Lottery, added, "IGT's retail central system includes a flexible suite of solutions designed to help manage, transform, and further develop Lotto Thüringen's business.
"With this long-term contract renewal, Lotto Thüringen will continue to benefit from IGT's secure, reliable, and modern technology and software. Utilizing these top-tier solutions will aid the lottery in achieving its goal of supporting statewide charitable causes."
This agreement is part of IGT's broader efforts to modernize the lottery.
Just yesterday, the company signed a ten-year agreement with Loterie Nationale of Luxembourg involving similar technological upgrades.
